Naga Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2010. Its purpose is to develop initiatives aimed at reversing the process of desertification and the restoration of collapsing ecosystems. Naga builds on decades of field experience of its founders and has the ambition to inspire the whole world to take matters to hand and to start re-greening and restoring ecosystems as a basis for sustainable economic life.
The name of Naga was chosen because of its ancient meaning. In many parts of South East Asia and to some extent on the African continent, the NAGA are known as “the bringers of rain and guardians of water”.
Naga’s has defined its vision and mission as follows:
Vision: A healthy green planet that will contribute to and sustain a healthy
liveable world for everyone.
Mission: To promote and execute projects aimed at re-greening of desertified land in order to create a sustainable and prosperous world.
